10 is the loneliest number
Howdy. Alright, so we’re two days in to the TDA 1st annual decathlon. Today’s event: The Obstacle Course. Sunil and I got into camp as early as we could to set up the course. A member of each team had to run to a group of tires that they needed to run through. Then it was on to the picture of the white board (everyday at rider meeting one of the staff writes the route for the following day on a white board that we all take pictures of and refer to during the course of our ride). After that the contestants needed to roll a wheel 50 meters or so to reach their bikes. Then ride their bikes through a slolam of empty coke bottles to get to the narrow bridge. Over the bridge and through the bar to get to Tour Director Paul’s cabin. They had to yell out “happy birthday Paul” (it actually was his birthday) and then get to the off road part. There was a narrow single track to ride over all the while looking for the good bike pump, fallen water bottles and a chair from the lunch truck for bonus points. Then another slolam course before you got to the jump, of course there’s extra credit if ya get air. And then the finish line back at the lunch truck. I’ll update this blog again when I get the results from Sunil, but this event was a huge hit.
